On April 25, 2009 GreenFEST '09:  In Celebration of Earth Day took place.  It was the 1st Annual Green Festival in Northeast Indiana and we had a

wonderful event.

Mayor Tom Henry of the City of Fort Wayne issued a proclamation declaring April 25, 2009 as the 1st Annual Green Festival in the area.  Speakers such as Geoff Paddock of the Northeast Indiana Passenger Rail Association, Betsy Kachmar of Citilink, Betsy Yakowiak of Little Rivers Wetland Project, Matt Jones of the Allen County Partnership for Water Purification, Kira Blackeford of the Allen County Solid Waste District, and Abigail Frost of Save the Maumee Grassroots all took the stage to discuss their areas of expertise.

Then we had great music arranged by Cathy Serrano.  Bill Certain, Dan Dickerson of the Harp Condition, and Skip Calvin of Guitar Exhange all sang their hearts out for this historic event that was arranged to benefit Community Harvest of Northeast Indiana.

All in all we had over 45 participating organizations   Please take notice of the important people who took part in this historic event.

You will be able to see a listing of all of them at the GreenFEST '09 Page.  And then meander over to our Photo Album where you will be able to take a virtual tour of the day, itself.
